Portrait Paintings
Before I ever painted a wedding, I spent years painting faces — studying light, expression, and the quiet details that reveal who someone really is. These portraits are the foundation of my work and the reason my wedding paintings feel so sincere.
Portraiture taught me to slow down. To notice the way someone thinks, the way they hold themselves, the small gestures that say more than a perfect smile ever could. Each portrait is a conversation — between the sitter, the light, and the paint.
Whether it’s a child, a parent, a couple, or a loved one remembered, I approach every portrait with quiet intention: to honor the person in front of me with honesty, warmth, and care.
The Portrait Process
Most portraits begin with a simple conversation about the person we’re honoring — who they are, what they love, and how you’d like them to be remembered. From there, I work from carefully chosen reference images or life sittings when possible.
Each piece unfolds slowly, from loose shapes to quiet refinements in color, light, and expression. My goal is not to create a perfect likeness, but a portrait that truly feels like them.
